Hello, my name is Jaelynn Rogers and I am finishing up my sophomore Volleyball season at Patrick Henry Community College. I began playing Volleyball in 7th grade and my love for the sport continued to grow from there as I played JV, Varsity, Junior Olympic Club Volleyball. Now Volleyball has become my outlet and one of the things I enjoy most in life. In my Senior year of high school, I was recruited by Glenville State College, a DII school and was ecstatic to have the opportunity to play at this level. I was the first Volleyball player in the 145-year history of my high school to ever play above a DIII level. I was on cloud nine. After that first year at Glenville, I realized I did not want to give up my dreams of playing collegiate Volleyball but I needed to better prepare myself for a 4-year University. Academically I was not prepared for the transition. When Patrick Henry Community College approached me with a full-tuition scholarship to play Volleyball for them I knew this was my opportunity to get my academics inline without giving up on my dreams of playing collegiate Volleyball. I have enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity they have provided me.
My goal now is to find a school that will allow me to continue my Volleyball career while obtaining a degree in Recreational Therapy. My dedication to achieve a degree in this field and spend my life serving individuals with special needs and intellectual disabilities is my driving force. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt this is who God created me to be and I will not give up until I achieve it.
