I have been interested in volleyball since I was three days old. My aunt won two Virginia state championships and I saw her play a lot in college. When I was able to finally step on the court myself my interest blossomed. I have since went on to grow in my understanding of the game and my play has improved greatly. I have been playing club/ travel volleyball since the age of 11. While playing volleyball I have maintained a high level of academic achievement. I've also learned how to become a better leader and teammate.
While in middle school my team won the City Championship. I took an unorthodox path to where I am today. My first year of high school I attended Tallwood High School for the foreign language program they have there. I excelled in the classroom and on the volleyball court, although at times it was very challenging. I then applied to Princess Anne High School to join the IB program they have there. My first year there we went undefeated and won the Virginia State 5A Championship. I learned a lot from the upper classmen and I hope to follow their lead academically and to continue to grow the program at Princess Anne.
The skills I've learned in school and on the volleyball court will help me to be a great leader in the classroom and on the court wherever I end up. I am looking forward to continuing my success and I feel that I will be a great asset to any future team I am a part of.
