Personal Statement

My Name is Madeline Perry and I want to play collegiate volleyball.  I am a junior at Hurricane High School, WV and have played travel and school volleyball for six years.

  • *I am a member of the National Honor Society, currently have a 4.1 GPA
    • *My class ranking is 8th overall out of 346 students.
    • *I was selected to USA Volleyball High-Performance in May of 2020.
    • *I was recently selected to MSAC All-Conference for 2022.

  • School Volleyball-During my 6th and 8th grade year, my team won the MVAC conference  (2017 and 2019) .  In my 2019 year, as an all-around player, we finished the season 17-2 overall.  As a high school freshman, I was one of only a few players to play varsity.   During my sophomore year (2021), my team made it to the state tournament for the second time in school history. My last year as a junior, our team won the MSAC conference where I was selected all-conference.

Travel Volleyball-During my second year of travel (2018 @13R) as an outside hitter, we finished the season ranked number one in points out of 232 teams within the Ohio valley region (OVR).  We went 43-5 on the season.   Unfortunately, the 2020 season was cut short for COVID-19; however, during the first half of the season, I was one of only two players on the travel team that was not substituted and played a six rotation.   In May 2020, I was selected for USA Volleyball High-Performance from my in-person tryouts in January 2020 (pre-COVID).  Unfortunately those events were cancelled for the summer for COVID.   In 2021, I then played for the 15 regional travel team and we finished the season ranked 1st place within the OVR.  Additionally,  I was asked to play up with the 16s for five tournaments ( I was still 14) .   During the 2022 travel season, I was recruited by several clubs to play American.  I played 16-American with Putnam Volleyball Club and we finished the season in 6th place within the OVR.

I am self motivated and competitive.  I work out daily including private lessons with a strength and conditioning coach and always strive to make my team better.  I am a leader at my youth group and I am extremely passionate towards the game of volleyball.

I was a member of the National Junior Honor Society throughout middle school and was inducted into the National Honor Society,  an unusual occurrence as a sophomore.

I have maintained and continue to have a 4.0 GPA throughout all of  High School, even while taking  AP classes as a freshman.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
