I began playing water polo at the age of 12. Although the sport was challenging at first I began to improve immensely. Water polo isn't just a sport to me, it serves as a outlet for my frustration and struggles. It is a place where I don't feel judged and a place where my teammates are my family and they encourage me to do my best. I appreciate and value my teammates because they have been there for me during rough times in my life and overcome challenges I've faced with this sport. Water polo has made me happy, encouraged me to be a leader, not to be afraid to take risks and type of person my teams, coach and family would be proud of.
Moving forward, there are many personal, scholar and athletic goals I wish to accomplish. I plan to graduate high school with a 4.0 GPA and continue praying my career in nursing, later I plan on furthering my career in the Navy. Like my water polo team, the Navy requires officers to treat other officers like family, to support them and to work with them to defeat adversaries. My heritage has inspired me to pursue nursing and career in the Navy; my family is important to me and I'm willing to follow in their footsteps. I believe I will accomplish all the goals I set for my self through the many character qualities I posses, such as my caring nature, my determination, my leadership skills and my positive attitude in times of strife.
