Collegiate Goals - As a student athlete, education is a priority for me. That said, I take many AP and honors classes and have received high marks. Beyond grades, it is important for me to thoroughly understand and apply what I am taught. As a rising senior, I plan to continue my education at the university level and major in neuroscience. Mental illness and neurological disorders are prevalent issues in today’s society and I want to use my education to help others.

Why choose me? In short, I have the initiative and grit it takes to be a strong team member. Taking initiative is a strength I learned at home and apply on the field.  As the only other family member in my household, when my mother was diagnosed with cancer, I quickly assumed adult responsibilities. I learned to adapt and react. It was crucial to learn how to effectively communicate with others and delegate tasks my mother could no longer do,  such as arranging rides to practice or finding a local home to stay when my mom was in the hospital. I ensured that my grades or water polo career did not suffer.
