“Tenacity is key.” It’s a phrase I first heard as a freshman in high school from my water polo coach, and as soon as I heard it, I had a moment of clarity. Tenacity is all about working hard and facing challenges, and as a 14-year-old who just got her second concussion within a year, I realized that tenacity was the key to battling my problems. The phrase quickly became my personal motto. As I’ve grown since then, those words have evolved to mean so much more. They’ve helped me realize that my biggest goal in life should be to improve in all areas of my life. As I move on from high school to college, I will take with me the strength, the power, and the tenacity to grow as an athlete, a student, and a person.

I am a left-handed attacker for my varsity water polo team. This will be my fourth year playing water polo, fourth year participating in NCS, and third year on varsity. My team has ranked third in NCS Division 1 for the past three years, but we’ve made it our goal to reach the finals this year. I have been playing water polo year-round since my freshman year for the 680 Drivers and have been to the Junior Olympics multiple times.

My overall grade point average is 3.79, but within the past four years, I've had two major concussions which have affected my academic performance and attendance. A more accurate representation of my ability is the gpa of my most recent report card which was a 4.29. I’m currently taking multiple AP/honors courses, so I’d like to go to a school that will challenge me academically.
