Personal Statement

Hi! my name is Daniella Papia.

I am 16 years old and have been wrestling for two years with the Windsor Wrestling Club. In the short amount of time I have been with the sport, I have become the U17 Wrestling Canada Lutte National champion in Freestyle and Greco-Roman. I earned the gold medal at OFSSA (Ontario's open high school provincials) and OAWA Provincials. I have medaled at every wrestling tournament I have been to, with 18 gold medals, 6 silvers, 2 bronze, and two 4ths. I managed to achieve what I have through my dedication, work ethic, and most of all, my love for wrestling. I am extremely dedicated. I ensure to attend as many practices as possible, and many days I practice more than once (even during the school year). I am part of Team Ontario, coached by Olympian David Tremblay Jr.

I am currently taking the IB certificate program. I care immensely about my education and hope to become a pedriatric cogenital heart surgeon.

I know, no matter how hard the path I choose, I can accomplish my goals. I know I can be a great asset to any college and any team. I am friendly and motivated. I have many goals (become an Olympic champion, become a heart surgeon, have my own clinic) and I know I can achieve the aspirations I have set for myself. I appreciate your time and consideration in me as a possible recruit. Thank you!
