I started wrestling my eighth grade year and fully committed to the sport my freshman year. As a sophomore, I placed 2nd in the UIL TX 5A 132 division and was the top scorer for my team as we won the state title.
I placed 3rd in the UIL TX 5A 132 division my junior year. Following the school season, I began learning and training in the Freestyle and Greco wrestling styles. In June I competed at the Air Force Special Warfare National Duals in Oklahoma. I was undefeated in freestyle and earned the distinction of becoming a freestyle All American. In July I will compete at the national duals in Fargo.
Funny enough, while I spent my younger years training to be a pole vaulter, and am still competing and earning accolades, I have completely fallen in love with wrestling. It is my intent to compete solely in wrestling in college. Learning from very talented coaches has inspired me and the teammate environment of wrestling is second to none. I love the grind and wish to continue improving my skills at the next level.
