My name is Evan Craner and I started my running journey in May of 2022 by joining the cross-country team. My initial 5k time was 22:15, but with consistent effort and training, I have been able to improve to run in the 18's. Every race presents an opportunity for me to progress further, and I am committed to my training journey to achieve my goals.
Aside from running, I am also a wrestler. I began wrestling for a club in 8th grade and now as a sophomore, I just completed my freshman year wrestling for the varsity team in the 113 weight class. I made it to State by placing 8th in divisions. Though I did not place at state, I won my second match after a hard-fought battle and I believe I showcased my talent. Running and wrestling are both important to me and I am dedicated to achieving my goals in both sports.
As a hobby, I also engage in weightlifting. I began lifting during the later part of my 7th-grade year, starting at around 95 pounds. Since then, I have made significant progress in both weight gain and strength. Initially, I could only manage to bench press 70 pounds and dumbbell press 15-pound dumbbells. However, I am proud to share some of my recent lifting accomplishments, which include benching 160 pounds, deadlifting 245 pounds, and squatting 230 pounds, all while weighing 120 pounds.
