My name is Jayden Cintron and I’m 14 years old. I've developed a deep passion for the sport of wrestling. One day I will wrestle for a college that will challenge me to be the best in the sport and support my dreams to one day represent the United States in the Olympics. Today, I am 20-0 , 19 by pins in the Northern Virginia Wrestling Federation. This season, I received awards for "Most pins in the league" , "Most outstanding athlete" and "Advanced wrestler of the season." Currently, I am the team captain for Potomac Shores Middle school wrestling in Dumfries Va. While I have had a successful season , I still have much to learn.
I come from a happy family who encourages me to follow my dreams, by earning my place through hard work and dedication. I have played soccer, trained in Jiu jitsu, taekwondo and Krav Maga. For fun, I love to swim, ride bikes and push myself in physical activities and work outs.
During COVID, I developed an interest in photography, cars and architectural engineering. I really enjoy building things.
I am an 8th grader at Potomac Shores Middle school (PSMS) in Northern Virginia. Spring of 2022, I joined PSMS first wrestling team. I had 2 exhibition matches and won by pins. The feeling that ran through my body after winning those matches made me really excited about the sport. In July 2022, I attended a wrestling camp at Virginia Tech, and it was there where I learned who I am and who I'd like to become. Throughout the wrestling camp I tried my best to keep up with the rest of the student athletes and loved the challenge. I failed many times and realized that through failure I experience growth. I learned not to quit, and fell in love with the mental and physical challenges wrestling brings. Facing my challenges allowed me to learn life lessons that I had never experienced before. Quitting is not an option, and I am willing to learn every day.
I applied the lessons I learned through wrestling at school and for the first time in my life, I am an honor student. Through hard work and training at Nova wrestling club and at Prince William County wrestling, I've started my wrestling career with 20 wins 19 by pins. My biggest accomplishment this year was that I weighed 122 lbs on my final matches and wrestled at 139 lbs. This match was challenging but I won all of my matches 2 by by pin. Separately, This is an exciting time for me and l am looking for more challenging opportunities and a future of wrestling in college.
