Even while you’re busy with winter and spring sports (because you’re a multi-sport athlete, right?) you’re already looking forward to the next season. Looking for more power, more agility, more speed. These exercises for post-season football training from Go Pro Workouts will help you prepare through the spring and summer for your best football season yet.

1 Mini Hurdle-1 Foot Side-to-Side

Use a single hurdle. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart facing to the side. Jump over the hurdle landing on one foot. Pause for one second and then jump backwards over the hurdle again landing on the same foot. Repeat for reps or time. Make sure to swing your arms to gain momentum as you move side to side. Switch legs.

Perform 3 sets of 10 reps

Power Clean from High Blocks

Place a loaded barbell on an elevated block and grip it with a wide grip, palms facing outward. Your knees should be bent at a 90-degree angle and placed between your arms, slightly over the bar. Keep your buttocks down. This is your starting position and the same position that generates the lower body power needed to lift the weight. Next, raise the bar towards your head in one fluid motion. Keep the bar close to your body. As the bar passes your rib cage, switch your hand position, extending your elbows forward to prepare to catch the bar. Stop momentum at shoulder level, hold briefly, and then lower the weight to the floor.

Ladder – Frog Hops

Enter the ladder in a hopping motion landing on both feet simultaneously in the first square. Next, place both feet outside of the ladder, one on each side. Hop back into the next square again landing on both feet. Keep a steady pace throughout the exercise and repeat. Your arms should be bent at the elbow and placed slightly forward.

Perform 2/3 sets of 10 reps

That’s just to start.
