Personal Statement
Playing varsity volleyball as a freshman with my sister, a senior, was the highlight of this year. I was awarded the golden shoe for most outstanding freshman volleyball player at ThunderRidge High School. This award is given out once every four years by a senior who received it as a freshman. This year, I learned how to adjust to many different situations, always ready to go in on a moment's notice anywhere I was needed and perform at a high level. On my middle and high school teams I have been a setter, outside, right side, middle, and strong passer in the back row, playing all the way around. On my club teams I have been a starting six rotation outside. I am a smart, aggressive hitter, have excellent court awareness, great movement, and powerful jump float and top spin serves.
My goal is to play volleyball for a program that will fit me not only athletically but also academically. I'm a student at the top of my class, and I am a multi-sport athlete who also plays varsity tennis. I am a hard worker, a captain and leader on my teams despite being the youngest, and my coaches compliment me on my athleticism, consistency and coachability. I have always felt that I was the most driven, focused, and mentally tough player on the teams I have played for. I will never give up on the court, chasing every ball down. I have the discipline to compete at the college level as well as the resilience, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make a positive impact on your program.
