Personal Statement
My love for volleyball started when I lived in Hawaii during my forth grade school year. The following year I started on my first club team, Hilina'i. By sixth grade I made the team of a more competitive club, Lanikai Volleyball Club. The summer going into my seventh grade year we moved to Arlington, Virginia, due to my dad's job in the Navy. In Virginia, I started as Libero/D.S. for club NOVA and played on that team for three years before our move to Fort Worth, Texas. I am currently playing for Fort Worth Fire on their top 17s team as Libero/D.S.
High school volleyball started for me when I was in eighth grade. I made the freshman team at Washington-Lee High School, a 6A school, I started and played all around. My freshman year I also started and played all around on the J.V. team. Sophomore year I moved to Fort Worth Country Day in TX and made the varsity team starting as Libero/D.S. I was on the varsity team this past year (junior year) also starting and playing as Libero/D.S.
Academics are also very important to me. I take as many Honors and A.P. classes I can while still balancing volleyball, Link Crew, and being there for my friends and family. I have been able to maintain a 3.8 G.P.A. One of the things I am most proud of is my admittance to the Link Crew program. Link Crew is a program to help freshmen integrate into high school. As a leader in this program I work to give the freshmen a good high school experience. That entails helping them with academics, being there for them as a friend, and also being there as a mentor and role model. Another thing I am very proud of is placing third in the ATPI Fall photo contest. My love for volleyball goes year around with high school, club, and beach.
I am eager to continue my volleyball career as a Libero/D.S. into college, while also pursuing my dream of becoming a Physical Therapist.
