My relationship with the Lord is the most important thing in my life. I desire that every aspect of my life including baseball to center on Him. A coaching staff and baseball program that shares the same Christian values as I do will be very important in my selection of a college to play baseball for.
In the Summer of 2017, I was invited to play in an older age group with a nationally ranked travel team. I learned a lot about baseball and life in general from this experience. I learned that the game is not about being a superstar. Rather it is about being a team player and putting others before yourself. That experience helped to prepare me for high school baseball this year. The high school coach moved me up to play as an 8th grader and my experience has taught me to compete at a high level. I would like to be a part of a college program that puts emphasis on teamwork and achieving our full potential.
I am not naturally gifted when it comes to academics. Since elementary school my mother has set a strict schedule for my sister and myself. We know that when we arrive home from school each day that homework is first priority. I owe a huge debt of gratitude to my mother for my academic achievements. She has pushed me to be the best I can be. Currently I am #2 in my class of around 180 students and have a 4.0 GPA. My parents also encouraged me to go ahead and take the ACT this year (2017) as an 8th grader to begin preparing me to be able to study for this test in the future. I didn't do as well as I hoped but it is my plan to take it at least once per year until I graduate. It is my desire to attend a academically competitive college, preferably Christian or at least one with opportunities to grow in my faith.
