Chase Mattoon '27 Recruiting Profile

I have been the starting shortstop on my high school varsity team since I was a freshman.  I finished the freshman season batting over .300, OBP over .550 and received multiple accoladtes.  I am the leadoff hitter for my nationally-ranked travel ball team, TB SoCal.  My goal has always been to compete at the highest level of baseball possible. Coaches have told me what sets me apart is my ability to always remain calm in high pressure situations and my extensive baseball IQ. I believe my ability to hit and field consistently, my leadership amongst my teammates, my personal passion to learn, and my love for the game is how I find success. I am a multiple sport athlete, Wide Receiver and Kicker in football and baseball.  

I am a sophomore attending El Segundo High School, where I am on the path to achieving academic success. I excel in Honors English and have been taking advanced math classes to continue a career in finance. Not only am I looking for a highly competitive baseball program, but I also am looking for a college with strong academics. I look forward to building relationships with many of you over the coming years.
