Personal Statement

When victory hangs in the balance, give me the ball and I will get the job done. I strive to make a positive impact in the lives of others and in my community, consistently giving my best effort, and leading and speaking through action. I appreciate the blessings I've received and try to make the most of every opportunity to learn and grow at home, in school, and on the diamond. I expect to excel in the classroom and give studies first priority, but that still leaves time for passions and mine is throwing a baseball. Nothing matches the way the ball feels in my hand, knowing the game is on the line. Baseball has taught me much of what I know about the importance of hard work, preparation, loyalty, resilience, humility, and poise. I am currently heading up Operation Hawkeye: STRIKE FORCE 2017,  a first-of-its kind campaign partnership between Operation Hawkeye, PLEDGE IT,  Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF), and other organizations through which high school, college, and travel teams across America can honor fallen members of our Armed Forces and leverage skill on the diamond to raise funds for SOWF, with support from leading companies like Marucci, JUGS, Jaeger, Tucci Lumber, Schutt, Easton, Majestic, Diamond Kinetics, Prep Baseball Report, and many others. I am grateful for the privilege of playing baseball for Gonzaga and the Stars, and committed to doing all I can to merit the confidence of my coaches and teammates. After Gonzaga, I intend to combine business studies with baseball at a college or university that promotes excellence in both academics and athletics.  Links:   Prep Baseball Report Profile (w/ VIDEO): http://www.prepbaseballreport.com/profiles/VA/Will-Thomas-35363Field Level Profile (w/ VIDEO): https://www.fieldlevel.com/app/profile/will.m.thomas/baseball.
