George Khalaf '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches, 

I am currently a rising senior at Gonzaga College High School in Washington DC. I completed my Sophomore year with a 3.83 GPA and completed my junior year with a 4.02 GPA. I have been on the Gonzaga honor roll for each semester since my Freshman year. I am also a member of the French honor society. I can also converse in Italian, Arabic and Spanish.

I am currently playing for Arlington Soccer Association’s U18/19 academy team (2004). My club is based in Arlington, VA. As you have heard the USSDA (which my team was a part of for the last 5 years) shut down last summer and now my club is playing in the ECNL national league for this season. We may transition to the MLS academy (depending on their readiness), next year.

My time on the soccer pitch began when I was 3 years old. I was initially coached by my father in a rec league and then I transitioned into travel soccer at 8 years old (U9). I played for the top teams in my travel soccer academy (DC Stoddert and JOGA) until I transitioned into the USSDA at U12 with Arlington’s Soccer Association. Under the USSDA, we only played the top teams/clubs in the country. They were MLS academies (DC United, NY Red bulls, Philadelphia Union…etc.) and other USSDA qualified clubs.

In addition to playing in the US, I have also been invited and travelled to Europe to play with the JOGA club/academy 6 times. Four trips were to Copenhagen, Denmark, one trip was to Amsterdam, Netherlands and one trip was to Lisbon, Portugal where we primarily played professional academies in these countries and participated in 2 tournaments.

I primarily play right or left back as well as center back positions. I feel extremely comfortable and confident in my abilities in playing these positions and know that I will contribute to the success of any team I play on and become a member of. I am currently 6’0 tall and weight 150lb. Since my last growth spurt, I started weight training. This along with my regular soccer practices (5 days per week, plus a weekend game) will continue going forward.
