Personal Statement
My love for baseball sparked at four years old when I watched my older brother play Little League and lit into a fire when I stepped on the diamond for the first time at seven. Since then, I have grown as a person and a player. I have lived the ups and downs of winning and losing. I’ve learned joy and heartbreak on the field. I learned dedication and hard work as well as how to roll with the highs and lows. It taught me to take what life gave me and make the best of it, just like my military family and scouting background. Moving four times in my childhood, finishing my Eagle scout in sub-freezing weather and camping in over 100-degrees, and losing the IL junior high state championship taught me a resiliency that can’t be learned anywhere else.
I always value my academics as highly as my performance on the field, never missing an honor roll in my 11 years of school. In college, I look to challenge myself on the field as well as in the classroom. As a driven student athlete and Eagle Scout, I believe my discipline, dedication and leadership can help me make an impact on any college program.
