Parker Bolt '12 Recruiting Profile

Greetings Coaches: I am Parker Bolt. I attend Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School in Reinbeck, Iowa. I'm 6'4", 190 pounds and am a 2012 RHP/Utility player. As a sophomore I batted .483 and went 8-1 as a starter, earning Unanimous All-conference Honors and Second Team All-District. My team was conference Champs for the fourth year in a row. My freshman year I was a varsity starter as infielder, alternating between short stop and second base and batting .372, earning First Team All Conference Honors. My coaches and team mates look to me as the team leader and I have a great time with my teammates during practice and in the dugout.  When it comes game time I am very competitive and hate to lose and take it very personally. I will do whatever it takes for the team to win. I have been playing baseball since I was three years old and I have loved the game ever since. I play whenever there is a chance. I've played in the little leagues, indoor hitting league, Iowa Baseball League and American Legion Spring League, in addition to playing for my school's junior high and now Varsity team. I'm also on my school's varsity teams for football, basketball, track and golf. I also participate in the year-round weight-room program at the high school. During the off season I can be found in the gym early mornings before school working on my pitching or on Sunday nights at batting practice. I have assisted in coaching and umpiring our youth baseball and football programs. My goal is to go to college and play baseball. And while my family is supportive in my baseball career and more importantly continuing my education, I will be seeking financial aid through my school and FASFA. I hope to be able to become a team member where I can contribute to the teams success as well as improve my baseball skills. I would prefer to attend a school in the midwest so that I'm not too far away from my family and friends who support me. I have always wanted to play baseball for the University of Iowa but I hope there are many opportunities out there to explore. Thanks for taking a few minutes to read my profile.
