Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Avery Rogers. I currently attend Archbishop Hannan High school in Covington, Louisiana. I play on my schools varsity baseball team as a OF/LHP. In addition, I play on the varsity football team at the wide receiver/defense back position. Since I was little, I have loved playing sports and always looked forward to playing every game to the best of my ability. I thrive when playing with teammates who posses better athletic ability than myself. Being in that environment makes me "push" myself harder to become successful. The game has taught me one of the greatest qualities that I will take with me forever, which is leadership. This is a quality that I use on and off the field regularly. I look forward to adding to my high school baseball and football teams success. In college, I would love to play baseball while keeping with my studies and major in sports medicine or engineering.
When not playing baseball I enjoy hunting and fishing. Since the age of 9, I have been an alter server at my family's church. I actively seek out opportunities to volunteer my time through our church at summer bible study, various Knights of Columbus events and at Archbishop Hannan High school summer youth baseball and football camp(s).
