Jake Beyer '17 Recruiting Profile

I am a 16 year old Junior student athlete with dreams of playing competitive baseball in college, while excelling academically. I attend Stienert High School in Hamilton, New Jersey Class of 2017 where I was a starting Varsity Outfielder in 2015 and batted 5th most games. During my Freshman year I played freshman baseball, JV Basketball and Varsity Soccer.  As a a sophomore I played varsity baseball and soccer. I earned  All Area honorable mention and was selected to the Garden State Underclassmen Game. I was also invited and participated in the Select Fest 2015. I have been playing baseball since I was 5 years old and have always had a goal of playing at a competitive level. As a 6'1", 190 lb. Outfielder, I have shown that I can hit for both power and contact. I ran a 7.0 at the Select Fest, and a 6.9 60 yard dash at Game Time Performance. My fielding in the outfield has improved tremendously over the past year, as it was my first year moving to this position. I have been a shortstop my entire life until this past season. Over the years, my coaches have told me that I am a very easy going and a teachable player in all aspects. When I take the field I sprint out to my position like it is the last time I'm ever going to take the field. I play my heart out for my team, and I am tuned into every pitch and aspect of the game. Every game is a new chance for someone new to be watching me, and I would do nothing more than give it my all to show them I'm the best. My number 1 goal this year is to drastically improve academically, get stronger, faster, and work on my arm strength.
