My name is Josh Crowding ([email protected]). I am a junior at Kingsway Regional High School in NJ. My career goal is to study sports medicine and become a physical therapist. I maintain an A average and I am in our school’s Sports Medicine Program. Among many things, I have learned the value of physical therapy and how important it is in a young athlete’s life. I want to be able to provide that care and get young players back to their sport as safely and quickly as possible while educating them on self-care to help prevent future injuries.
My passion is baseball. I have played baseball my entire life and excel at several positions. More than anything, I want to be on the field for as long as I can. I love third base and pitching first, but also love second and catching. I am wholeheartedly a team player and promote and demonstrate support to all players, not discriminating against skill level, personality or any other factors. I was voted a Varsity Captain this year by my team. I am humbled and treasure that honor.
I am now also volunteer asst. coaching for the 10U team in the All Out Baseball organization. I’ve been wanting to begin coaching for a while and I’m sincerely grateful for the opportunity to help young players realize, build and appreciate their talents.
I consistently work hard to build upon my skills and always hold myself accountable. I seek help when needed and take all practices and games very seriously. I am currently working on my pitching mechanics. I want to use my lower body more to create more power and speed. I firmly believe you have to love what you're doing to be good at it, so I also make a conscious effort to keep it light and fun for everyone while working hard. One of my greatest strengths is the ability to move on to the next play. Focusing on any mistake only hurts me. I can quickly analyze a play and correct it for the next opportunity if necessary.
No matter what, thank you to my family, coaches and friends for their unwavering support and love. I've had one particular coach since I was eight years old and could not imagine where I would be had I not been so lucky to find him. His support and guidance on and off the field have helped mold me into the person and player I am today.
