My name is Nolan, and my goal has always been to play baseball at the collegiate level.
I would be a good fit for your team because I take my character and academics just as seriously as I do my athletics. Earlier this year, the Terriers awarded me with the John Jepson Award, which honours the player on the team who most exemplifies these qualities: generosity of spirit, being a great teammate, sportsmanship, dedication to improvement, and academic achievement.
My coach also said, "Nolan was exactly what we looked for in a Terrier. He did everything we asked as a coaching staff and was a selfless teammate all season."
Athletically, I work as hard as I can to be the best baseball player that I can be every day. I take the time necessary to continuously improve my craft and set goals to make sure I'm always developing. For example, two years ago I felt I was falling behind velocity-wise, so I created a workout plan for the off-season and drastically improved my mechanics. This added 9 mph to my fastball in that off-season alone. I have now topped out at 87 mph, still as a 16-year-old, and have goals to be in the 90s by the time our next season starts.
