Matthew Peterson '25 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Matthew, and I am a right-handed pitcher for Hebron High School in Carrollton, TX. 

What I strive to do in college is to be a better version of myself and prove myself to coaches that I'm a valuable player for whatever team I am on. I want to be a good person and teammate on and off the field, as well as in the classroom or with friends. I would say I am a good candidate for your team because I am always looking at improving myself in the weight room and working with coaches to improve my pitching capability. I may be different from other recruits because I am willing to do whatever it takes to get better and to be the best in my position.  In addition, I take the same approach in doing my best in academics and keeping it my priority. 

I was the #1 pitcher the last two years for the Sophomore JV and Junior JV Teams.  This year for Varsity, I was originally penciled in as the #3 pitcher, behind two returning starters. However, due to circumstances, I was elevated to the #2 pitcher just prior to the season start. Towards the end of the season, last year's starter came back for a few games, so I didn't play as much.  However, I have since regained more playing time and currently helping my team through the state playoffs.
