Personal Statement
While I've played a variety of sports throughout my life, nothing brings me as much joy or fills me with passion like volleyball. I started playing volleyball when I was a six year old as a kindergartner and have never stopped.
I have always had an internal drive to compete. I work hard at improving myself as an athlete & a student, but most importantly as a person. Along the way, volleyball has taught me important life lessons about working as a team and how my skills best fit into that group. I've become more confident in my ability to communicate with others as well as taking on greater leadership responsibilities on and off the court.
This year (2017) I was the only freshman to make my high school varsity team. A team that has won the Texas 6A classification state title back to back years in 2015 & 2016. While this is a great honor for me, and I expect much from myself, I'm also trying to use this season as a learning opportunity. The girls and coaches that were on those championship teams have tremendous wisdom and experiences that can only help me grow and push myself to the next level.
My goal is to ultimately play volleyball at the collegiate level. Every season I have improved my mental & physical skills and I continue to play at highly competitive levels. My work ethic, team first attitude and abilities are only matched by my enthusiasm & love for the great game of volleyball.
