Field hockey has been a passion for me since the fourth grade. I picked up a stick because it reminded me of my former home - the Netherlands. As soon as I picked it up, I haven’t looked back. Right away, I started playing for the club Charlotte Ambush. Then later on for Carmel Middle and Covenant Day School. This is where I played varsity and started in the games.
During all of this, field hockey has taught me to not only focus on being a better player but being a better teammate. I make sure I work really hard for my team and being able to be there for them. I always play my hardest, and I’m able to learn from my mistakes.
I am striving to be able to play in college as well as following my academic major in the sciences, which is very important to me when looking at colleges.
