My name is Zakaria Khan, an athlete with a strong academic background and an extreme desire to play college football at the highest level I can reach. Attending an average 4A high school in Colorado with limited coaching staff, I understand that this is no easy task. I was late in making this decision as I first realized I wanted to pursue college football after my sophomore football season, at which time, I fell in love with the sport. I did not hit my growth spurt until after sophomore year football. I am now 6'2 and still growing. I am putting on about 20lbs a year. When I started looking into it, I noticed the physical responsibilities and how far behind I was, although this did not discourage me. Since then, I've been in the gym for multiple hours a day around 5-6 days a week, speed/ agility training 4 nights a week, private position coaching with a former NFL player, and track and field. I've noticed growth in my football skills and weight gain, although my greatest growth has been my speed/ jumping ability which seems to be improving each time I am tested. On the field, I am leader and always try to uplift the team when needed. As my recruitment process continues, I hope that coaches do not judge me of my current size or speed now, but my coachability, my potential, and my drive to become a well-rounded and developed top player, which I believe is my greatest trait. I will continue to attend training camps and combines as allowable. I am willing to change positions and contribute to the team in any way possible just to have the opportunity to suit up with the team. Choosing me will only bring benefit for the team. I look forward to meeting everyone and hope I am given the opportunity of a lifetime.
