Personal Statement

I am currently 5"11" 175 lbs from Waterford, CT. My 40 yard dash time is 4.8 and I am currently training hard to improve my speed and agility. I have two years of varsity experience at defensive back and was the starting varsity wide receiver as a junior. Primarily working out of a Power I formation, I had 11 catches for 282 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns and averaged 25 yards per catch in 8 games in 2011. I was also the back-up free-safety, on special teams and shared duties as a place-kicker. I believe my strength as a receiver is running clear and precise routes, along with having good hands. I am currently on the Captain's Council of my high school football team and I'm striving to be a great leader on and off the field. Also, I am a varsity member of the Outdoor Track & Field team , jumping over 40 feet in the Triple Jump in the Spring of 2012. I gave up playing basketball and baseball after my freshman year in high school so that I could commit myself to being the best football player I could be in high school and in college. I would most likely enjoy playing my college football close to home in the New England area, but I would consider attending a school outside of New England. Because of my passion for Sports and Physical Fitness, I am looking for a college or university that will give me a great education in the area of Physical Education. My GPA is currently at 2.95 and I'm working on improving that. As a member of your football team, my goal would to work my hardest and contribute to your team as best I can. Most importantly, I want to be part of a team at your institution that is like a family during my college years and enjoy playing the game that I love.
