My name is Maddox Presson. Currently, I am a 5'9, 220 lb Freshman from Belleville, Illinois. This past season marked my 9th year of playing football. In my youth league, I was restricted to playing on the line due to weight limits for carrying the ball. I was honored to be a team captain 7 of the 8 years I played, and served my team by playing all offensive and defensive line positions as well as special teams and kicker. Although I had my favorite positions, I was happy to have the opportunity to be a versatile player.
Unfortunately, I suffered a torn ACL and Meniscus the final playoff game of my last youth league season. After months of rehab and training, I had a gaurded start to my Freshman football season. Despite my injury, however, I practiced with the team all summer, and earned a starting spot at defensived end. I also played middle-line backer; a poisition I am eager to gain more experience at. While playing sports, I was able to maintain a 3.5 GPA. I have not yet taken the ACT/SAT's, but will beging prep courses my sophmore year.
I am looking for a college that is the best fit for me both on and off the field. While I am undecided on what I want to pursue for education, my ideal atheletic environment is one that allows me to make a positive impact on my team and teamates. I have always played team sports. Being a part of a team is something that has been a part of me since I was 4 years old. Although managing my injury was physically and emotionally challenging, it solidified my love and passion for football. I am very much looking forward to playing college football at the highest level possible., and representing my college as an elite student and athlete.
