Russell Mattsson '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Russell I’m a 2026 grad from Petersburg Illinois. I play football at PORTA High School #34.  I started playing football in 3rd grade and that’s were I fell in love with the sport. My goal is to play college football, I am dedicated to working hard to achieve that goal for myself. I feel when I’m out of high school I will make a great addition to any team because of my drive and work ethic. I work hard in the classroom and know how important academics are. I want to make a difference to every team that I am on, and to be able to control what I can control. To bring 100% effort everyday by doing everything to the best of my ability, to have a positive attitude, and to build trust as a team. Now going into my junior season hoping to start getting looked at our team is looking really good this year and we are expected some wins and a lot of new highlights videos for all of you coaches out there.
