Parker Matiyow '23 Recruiting Profile

Winning the Iowa Class 4A State Championship as a junior was the highlight of my high school career. However, I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete my sophomore year when our team lost in the quarterfinals . That experience helped me grow as a person and lead me to spend more time focusing on the little things that make the entire team better.

I am fortunate enough to be part of an amazing program, winning a state title and making it at least to the state semifinals in 3 of the last 4 years. Watching the team lose while I stood on the sidelines and watched gave me the opportunity to know what it takes to win and lead a team. I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. As a three-sport athlete, I know the time and effort it requires to improve myself as an athlete and what it takes to help a team succeed.
