Personal Statement

Hello. My name is Kenny Floyd and I am a running back for Norwalk High School in Iowa. Norwalk is currently a 3A School but in the next couple of years we will be moving up to 4A which is the highest level in Iowa. I am the kind of player you want on your team because I am a born leader, I give 110% in everything I do, and I am a great listener. An example of my leadership that I am particulary proud of is the starting of our 7 on 7 league here in Norwalk. I created the league and then put it into action. I am a very outgoing kind of person with a big personality but when I get on the field, I'm all buisness. Last year during my junior year, I broke the school records for both yards in one game and yards in one season. I had 1700 yards and 18 touchdowns. Because of how well my team and i performed this year, I was fortunate enough to recieve 1st Team All-State Honors at the running back position.  I am, for the most part, a very smart running back. I know what move I need to make to get the extra few yards. Whether that be side-stepping the defender or lowering the shoulder and running them over. I have great break away speed and because of that all I need is a small little opening and I can break a big play. I am 5'11" and 3/4 (So close to being 6 foot!) and I weigh 190 pounds. I am an extremely hard worker and I am always trying to find new ways to help better myself and everyone around me in order to try and become a better football team. This phrase might get a little over-used but I really am the first one to practice everyday and I am the last one to leave. I have the passion and drive to play football at the collegiate level and I am willing to do whatever it takes to get there. I'd have to say that my dream is and always has been to play in big games. Whether it be a championship game or a big bowl game. I want to be able to compete on the highest stage with the highest pressure to perform. That is because I am the kind of person who performs very well under pressure. I'm your man in the 4th quarter of a close game. I want the ball in my hands when the games on the line.  Geographically speaking I would like to play somewhere in the midwest or "tornado alley" just as a rough drawing point. Pretty much anywhere in the middle of the country. Preferibly I'm looking for a big school with a high academic level because academics are the things that matter most in life. The school will have to have a very good meteorology department because that is what I want to pursue as my major. Henceforth the whole "tornado alley" thing. But if the school has a good meteorology program and they are not in the middle of the country, I'm fine with that. But like I mentioned earlier, I am the kind of person who just loves the pressure. I want to perform on the highest level I possibly can, and to have an impact on a big game and on a team.
