I am a farm boy planning to study Ag Business. I have worked on the farm with my dad and grandpa since I was 12, living about 45 minutes from my school. Despite the distance and family commitments, I have been able to make football a priority. Summers involved getting up early to go into weights and then hurry home for a full day of work on the farm. I grew broad shoulders early which gave me a head start over some of the other kids my age and made me a versatile player for my team.
I have always loved working hard for the team and being able to be used anywhere on the team. I am able to work with others for the good of the team. My freshman year I played defensive end and I loved it, but as different seniors graduated, I was needed on the line. Although I missed playing end, I was happy to see my teammates get the tackles because I could hold two guys on the line. I have enjoyed playing fullback all through high school whether I was running the ball or making a hole for the running back.
I am willing to work for what I want and I am happy to help others on my team succeed. I follow through on my commitments, and I believe that maintaining a good reputation is important not only for myself but also for whatever organization I represent. I have grown up with western Kansas values and I like to believe that I exemplify those values in my daily life. I think I am a well rounded individual not only in sports but also in my hobbies and community service. I love playing the guitar, serving on student council and National Honor Society, attending church, and spending time with family and friends.
