As a student-athlete that participates in numerous sports, I consider myself as one who is committed, poised, humble, coachable and a natural leader. I have played varsity football for 4 years, basketball for 3, and track for 1. Currently, I am a captain on my high school football team and have the privilege of being the only player starting for both defensive and offensive lines. This comes with great responsibility. However, I am one to welcome a challenge that will produce both personal and team growth. Having a strong mental capacity and understanding of the game, enables me to retain the plays for both lines, quickly transition per the demand and execute them.
In addition to sports and advanced classes, I play various musical instruments for my school's honors band. All of these extra curricular activities have taught me the importance of balance, being a team player and managing my time. Maintaining my faith and moral values in the forefront, has helped me gain the tools and patience to work alongside, and in some instances lead diverse peers, with distinct personalities. I am a firm believer that we are all important individuals, working toward a common goal, through different roles assigned. Everyone is expected to give their best effort at all times, and that is exactly what I do. I go above and beyond what is expected of me, and this is something that carries on outside of athletics.
My aspirations are to perform to my maximum potential both on and off the field. Given the opportunity of playing collegiate football at the next level, and excelling academically, I look forward to being a positive role model and a contributing factor to the success of a competitive program.
