Nicholas Calandra '18 Recruiting Profile

    Hello, my name is Nick Calandra, I am a 3 Sport Athlete and I know what it takes to be the best.  I will be starting my Senior year at Seaford High School in Seaford, New York this fall. I am the Captain of my 2018 Varsity Football Team and will work hard to prove to my coaches and my teammates that they can rely on me both on and off the field. I was also just recently named Top 100 Football Players of Long Island, something I worked very hard to achieve.

For as long as I could remember, I have always had a passion for this game.  I represented my school at the Athletic Leadership Conference 2016 and also received the Nassau County Legislature Citation (awarded to my high school for being the 2016 Nassau County Football Division IV Champions). At the age of 5 I started playing football for my town. It did not take me long to realize that there is no sport more emotional than Football. I played for my Middle School and now I am on my school’s Varsity team, where I am a starter on both offense and defense. On offense I play fullback and on defense I am a linebacker, positions that I consider to be the heart and soul of who I am. 

    I consider myself a leader on and off the field. I take pride in my school work and achieve to be the best at whatever I do. There is a special bond that you share with your football teammates that can’t be broken. I plan to work extremely hard to achieve each goal that I have set for myself, which includes having good grades in school and attend a college that will allow me to play football.  But most importantly, I live by my High Schools Football quote, "Never Quit."
