Personal Statement
Football is in my blood. My dad and three uncles all played college football, one of my uncles was a long-time high school football coach, and another uncle, who previously coached at theNCAA Division I and Division III level, is coaching in the USFL. I grew up watching my older cousins compete in high school and collegiate sports. I've been surrounded by football for as long as I can remember and have loved every part of the game: the teamwork, comraderie, goal-setting, and seeing that hard work really does pay off. I realize that the amount of time I have to play the game I love is limited and I don't want it to end in high school. I've also seen first hand how sports can help people achieve their goals outside of athletics. The discipline and teamwork you learn on the field are necessary to find success in life, career, and family. My family refers to this as "becoming a man of excellence". So I've set a goal to work hard so that I might have the opportunity to play in college and reach my potential, on and off the field.
