Personal Statement
My passion for ice hockey began from attending WHL Portland Winterhawks games when I was just 2 years old. At about 2 and a half years old I decided to try it for myself. This was when I realized that I loved playing hockey more than watching it. The personal highlight of my career is being selected for the USA Hockey development camp in 2016, 2018 and 2019. My team, the Portland Junior Winterhawks, highlight was attending and winning the 2017 USA National Championships.
My motivation this past year has been to make the 2019 USA Hockey development camp. I have had the opportunity to play a lot of AAA hockey for different spring teams. One of my favorite spring teams is Team Northwest, which I have played on for the last 5 years. One of my favorite tournaments is the Desert Cup in Las Vegas.
I have played other sports, such as travel lacrosse and roller hockey, baseball, flag football and soccer, which I also enjoy. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, playing roller hockey and going to movies. When I can, I volunteer for special events at my sister’s school and help out with her hockey practices. I have also helped out with Teddy Bear Toss, 50/50 ticket and Chuck-A-Puck.
My long term goals are to play hockey at the college level and continue to play at a higher level after graduation. Currently my chosen profession, once my hockey career has ended, is to become a dentist.
