I have always dreamed about playing football in college, but never thought that would be possible because I only started playing my freshman year. After I was selected as 1 of 5 freshman to join the varsity team, my dream started to become a reality.
While I understand there is still a lot that I have to work on, whether it be grades or football, I am determined and willing to do whatever it takes. I accept new challenges with open arms and do my best to learn how to overcome that challenge. I am constantly in the gym training to get bigger, faster and stronger. I seek out football camps where I can learn and improve my position skill set. I was recently named the sole defensive MVP for the Utah OFFA Lineman Training Program 2022.
I look forward to learning as much as I can, making me a very coachable player. I also enjoy helping others learn, too. I believe that making each player stronger and smarter builds a much stronger team . Interacting with the older, more experienced players has been a great help for me, and I look forward to being a mentor and leader for my team.
I work hard to get good grades because I understand the importance of being a student athlete. Outside of school and athletics, I believe in giving back to my community. I volunteer as a coach for 5th grade flag football, and 6th grade basketball. I also created Angel Hugs, a small community service project, where I collect donations to make comfort kits to give to children who are involved in scary situations involving police officers. The kits include things like a blanket, a coloring book and crayons, a few snacks, and other little toys. I donate these comfort kits to local police departments for the police officers to hand out to the children to help keep them calm and comforted during their interaction. This is very close to my heart because, when my dad passed and the police came, I was only 6 and I was scared and didn't know what was happening and I don't want another child to have to feel that way.
I want to make a positive impact on my life, and on those around me. I know attending college, playing collegiate ball, continuing to support my community, and being a good human will help me achieve anything I set my mind to. I am determined to find the right college for me, where I will dedicate my time and energy, on and off the field, to become a successful adult, and to make my mom, and myself proud.
