It may be stating the obvious but I love the game of soccer. I have always wanted to play at the college level. I started playing at age 7 when someone noticed that I was left foot dominant. While I certainly believe being left-footed was serendipitous in starting my soccer career, it was the comradery of the team that made me fall in love with the game.
Beyond teamwork, I am a firm believer that success is a delicate balance between talent (over which we have little control) and hard work (over which we have total control). My success on the field is due to the fact that I am willing to work harder than anyone else. I try to touch the soccer ball each and every day. My coaches would tell you that I never miss a practice and actively seek out additional trainings even if it means jumping in with other teams.
My coaches would call me coachable and have been blessed to have been coached by a varied and professional group of coaches. I am fast, technical and tactical. I am a smart player, always looking for the best opportunity to score, whether it be at my feet or someone else's feet. I have NEVER finished a season where I was not the team's leader in assists. Whether as a direction changer, crosser, set piece or scorer, there is rarely a goal in which I have not played a direct role.
I am also flexible. On my club team, I am the starting left wingback. On my high school team, I played the 6 as a freshman and the 10 as a sophomore.
I know there will come a day when I can't play soccer anymore. For that reason, college is first and foremost about getting the best education possible. Historically, my grades have been the best when I am in season. Sports, and the time commitment that comes along with them, helps to keep me efficient and focused.
I love being part of a team and contributing where I can. I hope that you will consider me as part of your team and reach out.
