I started playing football for the first time my Junior year (pretty late) but have always been one to work out and at least put the work in, I play in an 8 man league instead of your normal 11 man and come from a small school. I used to not like the idea of doing sports but then started going to the gym where I hit an all-time bench pr of 225 a squat pr of 320 and unknown for the deadlift pr (I was scared of deadlifting because i like a functioning back). As I was going to the gym some of my friends who are the linemen on the team thought I would be a good fit and after classes and after the gym they took me down to my schools’ football field where I would practice linemen drills and working on my movement. After that year of going to the gym my next school year (this year) I headed down to the field with my friends interested in trying out for the sport, not thinking I would do much or be much help. The shock I had when I realized I would be starting on Defense as a Nose guard/Defensive End (depending on the front size) as well as back up for Center/Guard. Every day after practice I stay back on the field and put in more work with my friends or sometimes by myself so I make sure I can get the movements near perfect or at least similar to someone who has been playing for longer.
