Steven Bowers '25 Recruiting Profile

I feel this statement sums up my character to perfection. I am hard-working, competitive, persistent, resilient and ambitious. I always strive for perfection academically, as well as, athletically. I may not reach perfection but it is understood that I will not quit until my goals are attained. An example of this is the first year I started playing football at the High School level. I was in the 8^th grade on JV at Cosby High School and started the season as QB3 on the bench. I worked very hard to prove myself to the coaching staff and by the 4^th game of the season, I earned the starting role as QB1. My family ended up moving to a new school district the next year and I faced the same situation at Manchester High School once again starting the season as QB3.  After the 1^st game of the season, the coaches decided to try me out at the QB1 spot. I never looked back. As QB1, we went undefeated winning all of our games by a minimum of at least 24 points each. My competitive edge sets me apart from other QB’s when dealing with the ups and downs that come with the QB position. I never quit and I always make sure that my team is on the same page.  

Academically, I continue to improve my study habits, time management skills, and test taking abilities. It is a tedious process, however, I know it is a priority for my success. My GPA reflects these improvements from year to year. On a final note, my career aspirations are to attend a 4 year college/university, obtain a Master’s degree in Business (Sports Marketing) and one day open up my own training facility to give back to the kids in my community. I currently work for XL Sports in Midlothian, Virginia as a Coach/Mentor and it is very rewarding to see these young kids putting in work and striving for perfection as I do daily.
