I don’t think many people can say they found their passion at the age of 5, but I did when I began playing flag football. When I was 10, I used all the money I had saved up to attend my first 4-day overnight tackle camp by myself without knowing anyone. I am now an aspiring collegiate athlete. I am committed to all aspects of the hard work that goes into my training in order to excel. I am always working to improve my skills as well as training to get bigger, faster and stronger.
My strengths on the field are my instincts and ability to read plays quickly. I am also a varsity basketball and AAU player which benefits me on the field with athleticism, explosive leg strength and reaction skills. I began my high school career playing CB, then moved to Safety part way through my sophomore year. I am self-disciplined, motivated, laser-focused, competitive, humble, and a natural leader.
What I have learned about myself through athletics is that I must see every challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow and that my heart and motivation are what push me through the tough times to be the best athlete I can be.
But I am more than athlete. I am also an honor roll student interested in sports medicine to become an athletic trainer. I have been volunteering in my community since the 3rd grade, from feeding the homeless to organizing a book drive for students less fortunate.
I look forward to continuing to learn more about myself as a collegiate athlete.
