My name is Tyler Avery and I’m currently an 8th grader at Grace Christian School in Huntington, WV. I love my school and the quality of education is top notch. However, they do not offer football. My parents are in the process of moving us into WV so that I can take advantage of a new law in the state. This law allows me to attend my current private school but play a sport that is not offered there, at a public school. Until then, I’m finishing up my 8th grade year in Ohio at our local middle school, working hard in the gym to get better, and staying in shape with basketball. We thought long and hard about this decision and felt that although it would be easier to just go to a public school and play football; the quality of my education would suffer. I have to work hard because my school is by no means easy. Football comes second to that but I work just as hard at the game. My passion and love for everything I do is what sets me apart. I love my community, my family, and God. They all give me motivation to keep striving for success in all aspects of my life. I’m extremely coachable and love working with coaches at various camps and trainings because each offers a new viewpoint and helps me improve. I’m not sure what the future holds for me but I’m so excited to work hard and give it my all. I promise, anyone who gets to know me will realize I’m hardworking, have strong ethics, and I’m very dedicated to my future.
