I am a lifelong learner, observer, and player of basketball. I recently read it takes 10,000 hours of practice to become a master of any craft and my goal is to obtain 5,000 hours by the time I reach college & 10,000 hours before the end of college by practicing my craft thoughtfully and intentionally every day.
From playing basketball, I have learned that I am leader on the court, I can control the flow of the game, and I help my teammates be their best selves on the court. I cannot win if we don't win together. I have learned that I am super competitive and I hate to lose. I have also learned that when I do lose, I gain knowledge that I grow from so I can be that much better the next time I step on the court.
I am not selfish on the court. While I love to shoot and score, I am a pass first player and always have my eyes up and looking down the court for my teammates. I take a lot of pride in my passing skills and IQ on the court to see the plays as they are developing. I am happy to score, but I get more enjoyment out of seeing everyone score and play their best game through my leadership.
