Hello - My name is Ryan Auten. I am currently a Senior at Basehor-Linwood High School in Basehor, KS. I was born June 15, 2003 at Fort Carson, CO. I am currently 6’5” and 185lbs. I am an Eagle Scout and a young left handed basketball center and football wide receiver. I have played competitive basketball since 7th grade with MoKan and more recently with Rise & Grind. I am a ball player and love the game of basketball. It is my passion!! I work very hard to improve my game by listening closely and applying criticism and technical teachings from my coaches, trainers, and peers. I am determined to be the best teammate and leader for every situation.
Last summer I attended PGC at St. Olaf College in Minnesota. It was an incredible experience and I learned so much about myself and the game of basketball. I received the coveted Leadership award for the camp! I later attended the fall PGC Shooting camp in Ames, IA. I also attended the All American High School Basketball Showcase and was then invited to their Summer Invitationals. They also included me in a small group workshop with Double Exposure to be recruited.
This summer, I have had limited playing time due to Covid, but I have continued with trainings and college camps. I most recently attended the I-35 unsigned camp and my team went undefeated for the day! I take my craft very seriously and work with personal trainers and spend countless hours doing one-on-one skills training with next level athletes and coaches. My parents are very positive and supportive people and have always done their best to provide the best opportunity for me and my 2 younger brothers to continue to thrive and improve. During my free time I love to hang with friends, go fishing, kayaking and swimming. At the present time I am undecided on a college major. However, I love the outdoors and I like building and tinkering with different things. Perhaps construction or sports management or environmental science are possible majors.
In conclusion, I would like to assure all the college coaches that I am a very hard worker, a great listener and I will do my best everyday to be a positive roll model, teammate, and student athlete. I very much want the opportunity to continue my basketball career at the next level and I am determined to make that happen!
