De’Jhon Heyward '22 Recruiting Profile

For as long as I can remember, I have dreamed of being drafted into the NBA to play professional ball.  However, I also want to build a financial empire for myself and family.  I want to first graduate from a 4 year university with a degree in Engineering. Then continue on to Pro Ball. Once my professional career is over I will still have a plan in place. This will also afford me the opportunity to help my community advance.  

As an athlete, I would say that I am disciplined, passionate, motivated, supportive, coachable, committed and optimistic. I strive to remain focus and minimize the outside the noise. I allow my love for the game to be my driving force on the court. I’m always looking for a way to get in extra practices throughout the day to ensure I’m continuously improving. And the most important thing is I’m always taking my positivity and pouring it back into the other team members. No matter the status of the game we feed off each other’s energy. Being apart of a team is being apart of a family. We trust each other, support each other, believe in each other, and uplift each other. We are one.
