Statement from Lee Brickenridge, Pro/Swing Coach:
My name is Lee Breckenridge, I have been a professional golf instructor for over 40 years, the last 30 years in Canyon Country California. It has been my pleasure for the last couple years to be the golf instructor and mentor for Luke Rimkunas who will be starting his junior year of high school at Valencia High in Santa Clarita California. Luke got into the game fairly late being primarily a basketball player until the 8th grade. He has shown a lot of steady progress in the last two years and has become one of the top players on his high school varsity team and is getting more scores in the 70s recently.
Luke is a straight A student and very intelligent and has really improved his course management. He has a never give up positive attitude on the course and no anger issues. We go over all his rounds shot by shot and he is very interested in improving all parts of his game. I feel he has a great repeating swing and understands how it works.
His short game is excellent and improving weekly. I consider Luke a”Diamond in the rough” since he got a late start and I am sure his best golf is ahead of him as he has more time to improve his skills. I am confident he will be shooting great scores this year as he continues to compete.
With his strong academics ,maturity and athletic ability I feel confident he will be able to handle the demands of the college student athlete. I have had many high school players get College scholarships and feel qualified to say that I am confident Luke will be a great addition to any College golf team.
