April 2015Personal Statement
I am a 5'10 rising senior at Dobyns-Bennett High School in Kingsport, Tennessee. I have lettered the past three years at Dobyns-Bennett High School where we have gone to the state tournament the past two years. A highlight of this summer has been winning the SNEDS (TN) Elite Series in Sevierville, TN with a 71-71. Individually I finished 3rd (73-67) in the USGA Junior Qualifier in Charleston, WV. I also finished 5th(69,77) in an AJGA Preseason Event in Braselton, GA. In 2014 I won the Ridgefields Invitational in Kingsport, TN with a 67-70-68. I was the youngest to ever win the tournament in its 65 history. I also had a top 10 finish in the US Kids Teen World Championship in Pinehurst, NC in July 2014. During my junior golf season I finished 3rd in the Baylor Preview and won the Crossville Invitational with a score of 67. I also won the District Tournament with a 68.
My GPA of 4.3 weighted reflects my commitment to academics. I believe there are some great academic schools where I could be an asset to the golf program. I am extremely disciplined on the golf course as well as in the classroom. I currently have a 27 on the ACT and hope to raise that to a 29-30 by fall. I am willing to consider all opportunities and can't wait to see what my future holds!
