From a young age, golf has always been a major part of my life. The first time I picked up a golf club was at the age of 2. Although I didn’t always stick with it. It stayed in the background as I took up many different sports like baseball, lacrosse and basketball. After 7th grade I gave up on baseball and took golf as my next sport. I began rough learning the mental and physical aspects of golf. As I started lesson with my swing coach I was learning more and more. I lost my slice for the first time and adapted a draw in my game. Ever since then throughout 8th, 9th, 10th grades. My game has only been rapidly getting better, more consistent shots, further puring strikes.
Golf between me and my dad has been one key factor into my stride for greatness. When I first started he would kick my butt and it would only make me work harder. I still remember the first day I beat him. It was during the summer before 9th grade. I shot 84 and he shot 85 this was my best score at the time. We always had a bet on if i beat him he would give me a 100 dollar bill and he did. Although I beat him I never gave up on trying to get better and now when we play I still beat him even with giving him 11 shots. So, I really do thank my dad for introducing me too this sport.
Now we come to look at where I am now? My game still continuing to greaten and my mental game becoming stronger going into my 3rd year of highschool. I am proud to say that. I am not stopping here and i’ll continue to get better and learn this game to best of my abilities.
I want to thank you for your time and reading my statement have a great day and please keep a eye on me as I am always getting better!
Thank you,
William Alberty
