My name is Finlay Clark and I have just started my Senior year at The Woodlands College Park High School in The Woodlands, TX. I am interested in playing golf at college level and would like to show you what I have to offer
Academics: Throughout high school I have made a conscious effort to take advanced level classes when offered including Honors, Pre-AP, an AP class and this year I am in dual credit math. I am still considering my major for college but am most interested in the areas of business/sports management and kinesiology/sports science
Golf: This is my second year on the varsity golf team at College Park HS. Some of my tournament scores from last season include:
76 and tied for 4th place at Pecan Lakes Golf Club in Navasota,TX, (70.5/126)
78 in the second round of the Creed-Moorhead tournament at West Fork Golf & Country Club in Conroe,TX (73.1/135)

Supplementary: My parents and I are from Scotland and have lived in Texas for 15 years. Each summer we travel back home to see our extended family and while there I am still to able to practice and play a lot of golf. My home club there is Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club which is about 10 miles north from the city of Inverness. This is a links course which adds a different more creative approach to my game. Of course the weather is always factor there too! When I am here in the United States I practice and play at The Golf Trails of The Woodlands. I have interest in most sports, mostly following baseball, basketball, football, golf and Formula 1 racing. In addition to playing high school and AAU basketball during my freshman & sophomore years I was the student manager of my HS varsity baseball team. This summer I took a job working part time in the cart barn at The Golf Trails of The Woodlands. Now that I am back in school, I have definitely became more aware of managing/balancing my school studies with golf practice/play and a part time work shift as appropriate. I realise that sound time management is a key factor in being a successful student-athlete. I recognise the importance of physically working out too so make regular use of training facilities at a local gym.
I am a committed player when it comes to best use of time at the driving/practice range - I can readily see how purposeful practice equates to sound consistent swing mechanics and improvement. I thrive off team golf's unique dimension of playing as an individual yet for the integral purpose of something better/higher - those other 4 or 5 team members out there on the course with you.
I am interested in talking with you to find out more about your golf program and possible opportunities for the Fall of 2019. I fully appreciate the time constraints of your busy daily schedule, but look forward to hearing back from you.
